As some of you who know me know, that It’s been years since I’ve configured a game server, “fully functioning with mods, plugins and scripts”. Basically I feel like I’m having to re-learn all this “crap” stuff. But that’s OK, you guys are worth it and as some of you may know, when it calls, I can easily turn into a total junky when it comes to technology and gaming.
Tonight I spent much time via email / phone with Art of War Central.com www.artofwarcentral.com. Nice guys over there, sound knowledgeable, at least more than me at configuring TF2 servers, plugins and scripts etc. Oh, prices are pretty darn good as well. “At one time in early 2000 I could configure an Adminmod / Amxmod server no problem”, not these days. If you don’t use it you lose it, it’s VERY true with this kind of stuff, especially because it changes every few months. Anyway, I spoke to a nice guy named Dallas this afternoon, he was very pleasant. Tonight, after several attempts via email / voice mails and support tickets I finally got a call back from a guy name Max. As well, consistantly he was a nice guy to talk to, seemed very smart. We spent about 60 minutes on the phone. For me, I felt he went above and beyond the call of duty, gj Max and “Art of War Central”. Though after we hung up, I still was not able to find my server in the “Steam Master Server List”…
Not a big deal, It’s only day 1 of Oz’s TF2 server.
OzGaming and Art of War Central still have a few things to work on before our server, mods, plugins, HLstatsX can compete with the rest.
